Tips: Use the simple present for routines and facts (We play, It is). Give a reason with because (I like it because…).
Part 1 — Building sentences step by step
A clear sentence has a subject + verb + details (players, equipment, place, reason, feeling).
- My favorite sport is basketball. (sport name)
- It is played by two teams. (players)
- You need a ball, a hoop, and a court. (equipment/place)
- I play it at school with my friends. (where/with whom)
- I like this sport because it is fast and exciting. (reason)
- Basketball makes me feel happy and strong. (feeling)
Part 2 — Model paragraph
Example (Alex):
My favorite sport is tennis. It is played by two players or by two teams of two. You need a racket, a ball, and a net on a tennis court. I usually play at the sports center on Saturday morning. I like tennis because it is fast and it helps me stay healthy. This sport makes me feel focused and confident.
Why this is good: It uses is/are, explains players, equipment, and place, and gives a clear reason with because.

Part 5 — Your paragraph
Write 5–7 sentences about your favorite sport. Include who plays (team/individual), equipment, where you play, one reason with because, and how it makes you feel.
Sample answer: My favorite sport is volleyball. It is played by two teams of six players. You need a ball and a net on a court. I play at school on Wednesdays. I like this sport because it is fast and we work together. Volleyball makes me feel energetic and happy.
